El Niño

How to Play Spanish El Niño:

If you’re aware of the El Gordo de Navidad and what it’s all about, then you’ll know what to expect from el Nino. Rather than making their selection of numbers of their choice, players purchase pre-numbered tickets in the same way as one who in a raffle.  The numbers for tickets are all five digits long, ranging from 00000-99999.

Each of these numbers are printed multiple times in what is called a ‘series’.  Each of these series is what makes up a full ticket (billete), which is then further broken down into ‘decimos’.  With a decimo being effectively one-tenth of a full ticket, should that ticket win a prize, the player will receive one-tenth of the prize available.

When to Play El Niño:

The El Nino takes place once every year, on the 6th January.
