The Monaco F1 Grand Prix

The Monaco F1 Grand Prix is the one race that every Formula 1 driver dreams of winning.

Just like the Indy 500 or Le Mans, the Monaco Grand Prix stands alone, almost distinct from the sport from which it was born. To take the top spot on the podium, a combination of precision driving, technical excellence and sheer bravery is required to win in Monte Carlo.  It’s here in Monaco that highlights the differences between the great and the good in Formula 1.

Race and Razzmatazz

The Monaco Formula 1 race in Monte Carlo is one of the hottest events of motor racing. For those who love to do a bit of celeb-spotting, the Monaco Grand Prix is the place to be. It’s no wonder that celebrities and royals flocked to Monaco, as it’s known as the "millionaire's playground."
Every year, celebrities are drawn to the Monaco F1 Grand Prix’s super-chic street event, so much so, that the pre-race grid often looks more like the red carpet at the Oscars than the start of a Grand Prix.

Game of Prix

Game of Thrones actors at the Monaco F1 Grand Prix While filming the highly-anticipated final season of Game Of Thrones, actors Liam Cunningham (Davos Seaworth), Kit Harington and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jaime Lannister) took a break from set and spent the weekend at the Monaco F1 GP last year.

Kit Harington, who plays Jon Snow in the hit show, got so caught up in the racing action and took one of the high-speed cars out for a spin on the track ahead of the race.

Kit seemed in his element when he met racing legend Finnish driver Mika Häkkinen.

The race circuit in Monaco leaves no margin for error and demands more concentration than any other Formula One track in the world.

Cars run with maximum downforce and brakes are worked hard. Overtaking is next to impossible so qualifying in Monaco is more critical than at any other Grand Prix.

Hugh Grant

Ferrari lover, Hugh Grant also made his appearance at the Monaco F1 Grand Prix, even though he and Anna Eberstein had just tied the knot.

The star lent his support to the Scuderia and enjoyed a long conversation with Ferrari reserve driver Antonio Giovinazzi.

Kris Jenner

Kris Jenner, the Kardashian family matriarch also made sure she and her partner, Cory Gamble enjoyed all the glitz and glamour during the Monaco F1 GP race weekend.

The couple showed their support to Lewis Hamilton. Joining them were Dee Hilfiger, whose husband Tommy Hilfiger makes the Mercedes team's apparel.

Ron Howard

Ron Howard at Monaco F1 Grand Prix Ron Howard knows everything there is to know about Formula 1 having directed the 2013 movie Rush. The movie is based on the epic rivalry between Niki Lauda and James Hunt for the 1976 Formula 1 Grand Prix championship.

Alfonso Ribeiro

Another Formula 1 fan is Alfonso Ribeiro who won the 40th Toyota Pro/Celebrity Race, which is a fan favourite event at the Grand Prix of Long Beach.

The star, who is famous for his role as Will Smith’s nerdy cousin Carlton in The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air naturally also made his appearance in Monaco at the F1 Grand Prix.

The movie, Rush isn’t the only film synonymous with Monaco. 007 films like GoldenEye (1995) and “Never Say Never Again” (1983) both feature Monaco.
