Lori Butterworth Wins $50,000 On Powerball
While Lori Butterworth of Harrisonville might not have won the Powerball lottery jackpot, she is one of two lottery players who were lucky enough to match four of the five main Powerball numbers plus the red Power ball in the March 6 drawing. Her prize? An incredible $50,000!
Speaking to lottery officials while claiming her prize, she said the whole experience was “shocking.” She bought her winning Powerball lottery ticket from QuikTrip, 11101 E. 40 Highway, in Independence.
It’s the eighth time a Missouri Lottery player has won a $50,000 Powerball prize in 2019.
The winning numbers for the March 6 Powerball drawing were 6, 10, 21, 35, 46, and the Powerball was 23.

Zach Norenberg of Fremont also got lucky playing the Powerball lottery on the March 6 drawing. He matched five main numbers winning $1 million.
He bought his lucky ticket at Hy-Vee Gas at 828 East 23rd Street in Fremont.
Like so many other recent lottery winners, he too told lottery officials that he purchased the ticket on a whim.
It was while he was watching the news that he noticed the Powerball winning numbers appear and thought they looked rather familiar. He immediately got up and double-checked his ticket. Looking back at him were five numbers that matched those he had just seen on the news.
He woke his wife up and asked her to make sure that the numbers were correct. When she confirmed they were, he called his parents and in-laws with the incredibly life-changing good news.
“I called and woke my parents,” he said. “I said, ‘Dad, I just won $1 million.’”
The lucky Powerball winning couple said that they plan to use some of the money to pay off their student loans and their mortgage.
Anonymous Powerball Winner Plays A Prank On His Wife
An anonymous Powerball winner recently pranked his wife saying that he and his son were going to start doing some travelling. His just laughed and said, “With what?” Her husband replied, “I won a few dollars,” and showed her the $50,000-winning ticket.
He told lottery officials at the Maryland Lottery headquarters in Baltimore that he is giving the winnings to his wife to spend.
Dubbing himself as the “Columbia Winner,” he told lottery officials that he plans to keep playing his favourite American lotto games in hopes of landing a jackpot prize eventually.
He wasn’t the only elated Powerball winner in the draw, as there were a further 31 players in the country and the only one in Maryland to win a $50,000 prize.
The 73-year-old “Columbia Winner,” went on to say that he buys his Powerball lottery tickets for the week while he does his grocery shopping and on this occasion purchased four Powerball Quickpicks.
He said he didn’t check tickets until the following Thursday. The store clerk scanned his Powerball ticket and her eyes opened wide, the lucky winner recalled.
“She said, ‘Let me check this again,’ ” but the result was the same — a $50,000 prize.
He calmly put the ticket in his wallet and went on his way.
His wife is still in shock about the win and even more surprised that he turned over his winnings to her.
Happy wife, happy life.

“I said, ‘I think I may have just won a lot of money,’ ” the happy player recalled telling his girlfriend while claiming his prize at Maryland Lottery headquarters in Baltimore.
The couple scanned the ticket and a message flashed up that he had indeed won $50,000 on one line of his lucky ticket.
Speaking to lottery officials, he told them that he’s semi-retired and comfortable in his lifestyle and has no specific plans for the unexpected windfall.
He might, however, buy a new car later in the year.
“I’m really happy that I won,” he said.
If you think he’s a bit calm about his win, it might be due to the fact that it’s not the first time that he has lucked into a large amount of money.
A few years back, he slipped in $40 into a slot machine and won hit a five-digit pay-out!
